Nitto Denko has announced it will build a plant for LCD TV optical film production in the Guangming Hi-tech Park of Shenzhen, China. Nitto Denko plans an initial investment of six billion yen (US$49.5 million; US$1 = 121.1 Yen) in the new facility named Shenzhen Nitto Optical, with a total investment of 20 billion Yen (US$165.1 million) over the next two to three years. Shenzhen Nitto Optical will produce optical films for large-sized LCD TVs, including 65-inch models. Construction on the facility is to begin in January 2007, with completion slated for October 2007.
