LPL's Construction Plan for 5.5G Line Suspended

As a follow up to Asia Express dated March 24, 2006, Korean Yonhap News Agency recently reported that LPL (LG Philips) has suspended its construction plan for its 5.5G line in Paju, Korean. This 5.5 G line, mainly assigned for making TFT-LCD (Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display) panels for notebook PCs, was originally slated to begin mass production in the second half of 2006. The company has not made any decision yet on when to resume construction of its 5.5G line.
