Samsung to Unveil Double-sided, Dual-image Mobile Phone LCD at CES

Samsung is scheduled to unveil a double-sided, dual-image mobile LCD at the 2007 International CES (Consumer Electronics Show), to be held in Las Vegas in January. Employing Samsung's double-gate thin-film transistor architecture and amorphous silicon gate technology, the new LCD is able to display independent visual data simultaneously on each side of a thin display. Moreover, Samsung's new LCD requires only one backlight, operating in transmissive and reflective modes respectively on each side. The new LCD is expected to find use in clamshell mobile phones and is slated for mass production in the first half of 2007.
