Teco, Changhong, Potevio to Form OLED JV in China

According to World Journal, Taiwan-based Teco plans to establish a joint venture with China-based Changhong and Potevio, with an investment of approximately NT$2 billion (US$60 million; US$1=NT$33.3). With two production lines, this new facility is expected to kick off the production of 1.8- and 2.0-inch OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) panels for use in mobile phones and MP3 in the third quarter of 2007, with an initial monthly capacity of approximately 400,000 units. Currently, Teco has signed an MOU with Changhong and this agreement is expected to be concluded by the end of this year.
