On October 3, Sharp showcased a prototype 64-inch LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panel at the CEATEC (Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies) show in Japan, with a resolution of 4,096 x 2,169. The company claimed that the new panel, currently under development, has a resolution four times higher than that of high-definition panels. Details concerning commercialization of the new panel were not yet disclosed.
