Sharp Launches 8-color LED Chip for LCD TVs and Consumer Electronics

Sharp has developed a 3.2 x 2.8mm LED (Light Emitting Diode) chip combining eight colors, including light blue, lemon yellow, purple, white, blue, red, green, and amber. With rollout scheduled for September, the chip will be used in LCD TVs, audiovisual devices, and entertainment equipment. By modifying the phosphor materials and LED design, Sharp has successfully increased the brightness of the new LED chip, which Sharp claims to be the brightest model in the industry.
