China Unicom to Launch CDMA Mobile Phones with Separate UIM Card
August 25, 2006
China Unicom recently announced that it has been granted by the Chinese government for selling CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) mobile phones using a separate UIM (User Identity Module) card. These mobile phones are expected to hit the market in the second quarter of 2006 as a supplementary choice for UIM-embedded CDMA mobile phones. China Unicom expects to better serve its CDMA mobile phone subscribers with both mobile phone models.
