Samsung to Commercialize 32-inch LCD TVs with FFL Backlight

According to Korean media reports, Korean Samsung will commercialize the first 32-inch LCD TV with FFL (Flat Fluorescent Lamp) backlight technology at the end of July 2006. This backlight technology is also expected to be used in the company's 40-inch LCD TVs. In comparison with CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) backlights, FFL technology has a number of advantages, including its thinness, environmental friendliness, and cost-competitiveness.
