Korean Iljin has developed a new projector module which uses only one LCD panel to produce images, significantly reducing the size and costs of a projector and making it suitable for portable devices such as handsets and MP3 players. Devices equipped with the module can project 10-inch and larger images on screen and walls. Iljin is working with a Taiwanese manufacturer to develop projectors using this module, and expects to roll out such models by September at a price of 500,000 Won, about half of existing offerings.
