Changhong TV Plant in Czech Republic to Produce PDP, LCD Models

As reported in Asia Express on December 22, 2005, Chinese Changhong is setting up a TV production facility in the Czech Republic with an initial investment of US$30 million. Recently, the company released more information about the plant. It stated that production is expected to start in August 2006, and initial production capacity is projected at one million units annually. The facility, which will have about 300 employees, will focus on flat-screen TVs, including PDP and LCD models, and production will be targeted at European markets.
