Samsung Introduces 32GB Flash-Based SSD for Notebook PCs

On March 20 Samsung unveiled a 32GB SSD (Solid-State Drive) using NAND flash chips for notebook PCs in replacement of the traditionally used hard disk drives. The flash-based drive, lighter and consuming less power than existing hard disks, is priced at US$500 currently, and the company expects this price to fall to about US$200 by 2008.
