Sony to Triple LCD TV Capacity in Europe by March 2007

Sony has planned to boost its annual LCD TV capacity in Europe to 3.5 million units by March 2007 through capacity expansion at its Barcelona plant in Spain, which mainly produces 40-inch models, and by shifting its Slovakia production line to LCD TVs, mainly 32-inch models. Sony also expects to push its market share in Europe to 20% and LCD TV sales to two million units in 2006.
