CPT (Chunghwa Picture Tube) has announced a six-month postponement of their next-generation plant in central Taiwan. According to CPT, the delay, coincident with a possible supply glut in display caused by LCD makers' aggressive production, is attributed to their uncertainty about the mainstream size of flat panel TVs. However, observers have said the main reason is the difficulty in obtaining sufficient capital, which is NT$60 billion to NT$80 billion short of the funds needed.
