LPL Confirms Construction of LCM Plant in Poland

LG Philips LCD has signed an investment agreement with the Polish government concerning the construction of a back-end module plant in Poland. LPL intends to invest 429 million euros by 2010. The Polish plant is expected to start production in the first half of 2007 with initial capacity of three million LCD modules per year. After entering full production, the plant will be able to produce 11 million units annually. LPL's Polish plant will focus on large LCD TV modules, including 26", 32", 37", and 42" models, as well as 19" and above for monitors.
