Samsung's mobile-use display panel plant in Tianjin, China will start production in 2005. The Tianjin Plant and the Dongguan Plant in China along with the Pusan Plant in Korea will then form an "Iron Triangle" of small panel production. Besides continuously developing high added-value products such as slim display and 3D display, Samsung is also moving toward low-cost handsets to better compete in the value-line market. With this varied product mix, Samsung be working toward satisfying the demand for high-end and value-line mobile phones in the second half while targeting OLED applications other than mobile phones, such as MP3 player and PMP.
