Lenovo to Resell Blade Desktops from ClearCube
July 14, 2005
Lenovo has inked a deal with ClearCube Technologies to resell ClearCube branded blade desktop systems to the client base Lenovo gained through the acquisition of IBM's PC unit. Blade desktops function as complete PCs, however, users only have a mouse, a keyboard, a monitor, as well as a networking unit that connects them to their computers, or circuit boards, loaded in a rack in a computer room. This design can effectively save companies real estate and support costs.

Lenovo is also conducting an experiment with health care specialist McKesson. Swivel screens have been installed in the patient rooms of selected hospitals, allowing patients to order movies or acquire medical information. The trial system also allows doctors to log in and retrieve patient information with a swipe of a magnetic card.
