Sanyang Electro to Throw in Big Money for New LCD Module Line

FPC (Flexible Printed Circuit) maker Sanyang Electro Mechanics has plans to invest approximately 20 billion KRW to set up a new production line for small-size LCD modules. Construction of the line, to be located in the Pyungtaek complex in Gyeonggi Korea, is expected to begin by the end of 2005, for operation in as early as January 2006. Sanyang will leverage its knowledge in the FPC and surface mounting technology segments, so that the line will include chip on glass and flip chip on glass assembly.
