The Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute (MIC), a Taipei-based IT research institute, has partnered with National Chengchi University (NCCU) and Tamkang University to address the pressing challenges of digital trust. On December 5, MIC signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NCCU's College of Communication and Tamkang University's Department of Education and Futures Design. This collaboration aims to explore critical issues related to digital trust and develop strategies to help industries and society navigate an increasingly interconnected digital landscape.
MIC Director General Chris Hung emphasized that digital trust is a growing challenge for businesses as they undergo digital transformation. By leveraging academic expertise, this interdisciplinary partnership will explore forward-looking solutions tailored to industry needs. Dr. Jian-Bang Deng of Tamkang University highlighted the importance of examining trust issues from a futures studies perspective, noting that the rise of AI and robotics will raise questions about human coexistence with these technologies and trust-building across different generations and social groups. Professor Lin Rih-Hsuan of NCCU pointed out that digital trust is vital for user confidence in secure and reliable digital services, with unique challenges emerging in areas such as AI, digital economies, and e-governance.
MIC Industry Consultant Shih Po-Jung emphasized that a thriving digital economy relies on the secure and efficient flow of data within trusted environments, a need that is becoming increasingly critical as businesses adopt generative AI for sensitive applications like business intelligence. MIC Senior Industry Analyst Mandy Wang introduced the institution’s three-layer digital trust ecosystem framework, which includes foundational, governance, and ecosystem layers. Key consulting services in this framework focus on AI technology validation and forensics, trust literacy training, and tailored trust strategy planning for organizations. MIC aims to leverage interdisciplinary resources both domestically and internationally to help industries and enterprises tackle evolving trust challenges effectively.
