January 04, 2018

With incentives such as the right to use land almost free of charge and tax benefits of USD 2.85 billion, Taiwanese Foxconn recently stated that the company will spare no effort to ensure that its new LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) plant in Wisconsin, the United States, will begin operations sometime in 2019, the United Daily News reported on January 2. Foxconn is reportedly to invest a total of USD 10 billion over the next six years in Wisconsin. In return, the official subsidies given by the Wisconsin government will include the interstate highway construction, public utilities, and a two-year talent recruitment plan worth USD 20 million. According to a recent statement by Foxconn, its footprint in the Wisconsin area is estimated to be 22 million square foot and will create around 13,000 local jobs. In addition, Foxconn will rent a field in Wisconsin to train staff and test new products before the completion of the new facility.
