IBM and FET Expand Cloud Cooperation

IBM and Taiwan’s leading innovative convergence wireless service provider FET (Far EasTone Telecommunications) recently announced the expansion of existing cloud alliance to promote an integrated cloud platform called SAP HANA and deliver smart applications for enterprises, with an aim to help them reduce time to move their e-commerce business to a cloud environment, United Daily News recently reported. Under the cooperation, FET not only will extend to include applications for smart city, smart manufacturing (Industry 4.0), smart healthcare, and Internet of Vehicles but also will utilize IBM’s cloud services to consolidate Blockchain and IoT (Internet of Things) solutions into its cloud environment. So far, IBM has a total of 50 datacenters worldwide while FET has 9 in Taiwan that will help Taiwanese enterprises implement cloud solutions more conveniently.
