Taiwan's ITRI Signs MOU With NVIDIA For AI Technologies
September 23, 2016
Taiwan's ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute) signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Nvidia to develop AI (Artificial Intelligence) technologies initially for autonomous driving and smart robots, reported Economic Daily News on September 22. ITRI has been developing self-driving vehicles for more than a year. This strategic partnership will enable ITRI to introduce Nvidia's DRIVE PX2, an AI computing platform, and Drive Works, a SDK (Software Development Kit) for driverless car developers, to work with ITRI-developed image sensors and deep learning modes. Aside from self-driving, ITRI said that the deep learning technology can also be applied to industrial robots or even service robots in the future.
