Quanta Computer and Ericsson have entered into a strategic partnership to jointly design, develop, and manufacture datacenter solutions based on Ecrisson's HDS 8000 platform, reported the Commercial Times on February 23. The partnership is expected to broaden Ericsson's product mix, including equipment integrated with rack servers, and help Quanta expand its cloud computing products further into the global market. Ericsson has joined Open Compute Project (OCP), focusing on hardware design for scale-out data center solutions.
