Fujitsu and Intel announced a collaboration that will see both companies jointly develop comprehensive IoT (Internet of Things) solutions, according to Fujitsu's press release on May 13. The teamwork will combine Fujitsu's distributed service platform technology with the Intel's IoT Gateway to create an optimal systems environment. The companies said they initially plan to focus on manufacturing, retailing, and the public sectors, and have had a proof of concept set up in Shimane, Japan, which includes real-time visualization of manufacturing operations. Further plans to create more proof of concepts for retailing and the public sector will be implemented during fiscal year 2015.
