Panasonic Subsidiary IPS Alpha Technology to Change Company Name

Panasonic announced that the company's board of directors has approved on August 23, 2010 that IPS Alpha Technology will be renamed Panasonic Liquid Crystal Display starting from October 1, 2010, according to a press release by Panasonic. IPS Alpha Technology is a subsidiary of Panasonic which designs, manufactures, and sells large-size LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) TV panels. It is projected that Panasonic Liquid Crystal Display will then merge two other units, IPS Alpha Himeji and IPS Alpha Support. It is reported that Panasonic renames and integrates its subsidiaries with an aim to
consolidate
its LCD business worldwide, according to the same source.
