Weekly TD-SCDMA Update March 31 - April 6

- On the China Mobile Communication Industry Summit Forum 2008 recently held in Beijing, a senior official of China Mobile revealed that the accumulated number of TD-SCDMA base stations has reached 14,119 up until the end of March 2008, according to Sina Tech. In a bid to accelerate the TD-SCDMA development, China Mobile has also engaged in the R&D of new outdoor units and antennae.
Furthermore, according to the same Sina Tech report, of the eight Chinese cities where TD-SCDMA numbers are being released, Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou will feature larger scale of number release than the other cities. ZTE is responsible for the TD-SCDMA construction project in Beijing, while Datang Mobile is in charge of the ones in Shanghai and Guangzhou.
