Huawei, Telecom Italia Announce Collaborations in Italy

Chinese telecom equipment provider Huawei and Telecom Italia jointly announced on November 15 further collaborations in Italy.
At a forum on mobile broadband network in the southern Italian city of Palermo, Huawei and Telecom Italia announced that they will collaborate on the deployment of UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System)/HSPA (High-Speed Packet Access) network in southern Italy. Previously, Huawei has already constructed an HSUPA (High-Speed Uplink Packet Access) network for Telecom Italia on the island of Sicily, according to a report by The Inquirer.
Furthermore, ahead of the forum, Huawei revealed an agreement struck with Telecom Italia to set up a Mobile Innovation Center in Turin. Currently, Huawei's Italian operations are based in Rome, Milan, and Turin.
