AUO Invests US$300Mln in Xiamen Plant; CMO's China Line to Start in '07

Taiwanese AUO recently announced that it will invest an extra US$300 million in its LCM plant in Xiamen, China, which will have a production capacity similar to or higher than its plant in Suzhou. AUO stated that the new plant is expected to outpace its original schedule and will begin mass production in the first quarter of 2007 instead of in the second quarter.
Meanwhile, CMO announced that its LCM factory in Foshan in Guangdong Province, China, will kick off mass production in June or July 2007.
