According to information released by the Japanese Telecommunications Carriers Association, the total number of mobile phone subscriptions in Japan reached 91.79 million at the end of March 2006, representing an increase of 5.5% in comparison with March 2005. These figures were part of a report by the association covering mobile phone subscriptions in Japan in the fiscal year 2005, which runs from April 2005 to March 2006.
