Abstract

This report presents Taiwanese LCD TV shipment volume and value forecast, as well as recent quarter review of shipment volume, value, ASP, shipment ranking, shipment by maker, and product mix. Also provides price trends, production locations, shipment destinations, and business types. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with LCD TV makers. This report finds that, boosted by demand rebound in North America, Eco-point stimulation in Japan, and shipment increase in the emerging markets, Taiwanese LCD TV shipment volume saw slight sequential but substantial year-on-year growth in the fourth quarter of 2010. As the share of large-size TV shipments grew in the fourth quarter, shipment value and ASP both grew accordingly. Driven by the shipments of new TV models, holiday sales in Asia, and demand rebound in North America and Japan, it is forecasted that shipment volume will continue to grow despite the off-season effect in the first quarter of 2011.
