Abstract

In the past, most autonomous cars were presented in the conceptual form but now autonomous car development is more clearly defined. At CES 2016, several carmakers have made significant progress in rolling out autonomous cars that fit to practical environments. Aside from technology evolution, laws and regulations of autonomous cars around the world have placed a key role in determining future plans of carmakers. This report provides an overview of what MIC observed at the CES this year, touching on the latest development of established players in the field of smart car, unmanned aerial vehicle, and 3D printer from the perspective of chipmakers and carmakers; examines global trends in those three fields.
