Over 70% of Business Intelligence Patents are Used for Computer Technology and IT Methods for Management: MIC

Taipei-based research institute MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute) used the IPC code to describe field and found that the field distribution share of BI (Business Intelligence) patents held by international assignees concentrate mainly on Compute Technology and IT Methods for Management. "Computing Technology and IT Methods for Management have the majority share of 54.3% and20.3%, respectively, followed by other fields such as Digital Communication, Control, Telecommunication, Audio-visual technology, Measurement, Transport, Medical Technology, and Furniture & Games," says David Chen, senior analyst with MIC.

"It is noteworthy that Transport (1.6%) and Medical Technology (0.4%) have relatively low shares and therefore are worth the investment."
