LG Display to Expand OLED Production Capacity in Korea
February 23, 2013

LG Display said that the company will spend 706 billion won (US$650 million; US$1 = 1085.7 won) on a new production line of large-sized OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) panels for TVs, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal on 19 February. Installed in the same premises where LG Display's Paju plant is located in the north of Seoul, the new line is slated for mass production in the first half of 2014. Once completed, the new production line will help increase the company's monthly OLED panel capacity to 26,000 mother-glass sheets, or around 156,000 units of 55-inch panels, according to the same source.
