Sharp is reported to manufacture LCD panels for Apple's new iPad, according to a November 25, 2011 report by the Wall Street Journal. The new iPad's LCD panels are expected to be manufactured at Sharp's No.2 plant located in Kameyama, central Japan. It is also reported that Apple is investing in facilities at Sharp's panel manufacturing plants located in Japan, but no other details were disclosed.
