Asustek to Foray into Brazil PC Market

Asustek prepares to aggressively enter the PC market in Brazil in the fourth quarter this year, according to an August 17, 2011 report by the Taipei Times of Taiwan. Approximately 63% of Asustek's overall shipment goes to the emerging markets, according to Asustek, and the company plans to target at the mobile PC markets in Brazil, India, and Indonesia, aiming to expand its market share worldwide. Latin America accounts for approximately 10% of the mobile PC shipments worldwide, and of the overall shipments to the region, the Brazilian market along accounts for around 50%, Asustek said. It is projected that Asustek will focus on promoting its value-line netbook PCs in Brazil.
