It is reported that Foxconn is establishing a LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) monitor production base in Chongqing, southwestern China, according to the Commercial Times of Taiwan. Pilot production of the new production base is slated for September this year. The US$ 2.5 billion new production base is reported to produce 17-inch and 21-inch LCD screens for PCs. It is projected that Foxconn aims to gradually increase annual output of the Chongqing production base to approximately 10 million units of LCD monitors in three years.
