Sharp is currently in talks with Chimei Innolux and Samsung Electronics over LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panel supply, according to a February 3, 2011 report by Nikkei. Sharp is expected to provide Chimei with TV-use large-sized panels as well as technology to reduce LCD TV power consumption and outsource its 20- to 30- inch panel production to Chimei. It is reported that a technology transfer agreement has been sealed between Sharp and Chimei. The panel supply deal is slated to start by the end of 2011. It is reported that Sharp also plans to supply large-sized panels for Samsung and aims to reach an agreement soon.
