Mixed Results for IPTV Use in Chinese city of Hangzhou
August 10, 2005
The number of IPTV users in the Chinese city of Hangzhou recently crossed the 20,000 mark, but this increase in numbers is exerting a high pressure on the available public Ethernet, which was originally designed with a bandwidth of 10M, leading to the fact that IPTV users are unable to enjoy the regular broadband advantages. The situation even influences users of normal broadband connections. Hangzhou currently serves as a testing center for IPTV use, and the aforementioned situation means that there is still some way to go before it can be effectively introduced in other areas in China.
