Taiwan's Institute for Information Industry Wins R&D 100 Awards Again This Year

Institute for Information Industry (III), a major government think tank and one of government-backed research institutes in Taiwan, has own the latest R&D 100 Awards again this year, according to MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute), a division of III, on August 6. III's award-winning solution is an AI-driven cybersecurity analytic platform, which is designed to examine existing ransomware so as to identify potential variants and strengthen businesses' ability to tackle emerging threats. 
Taiwan reportedly claimed 12 top finishes at the Awards and ten of the winning entries were submitted by government-supported institutes, including Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Institute for Information Industry, Taiwan Textile Research Institute, and Metal Industries Research and Development Centre. 
Established in 1963, the annual R&D 100 Awards are organized by U.S.-based R&D Magazine and widely recognized as the Oscars of invention. The 100 winners are selected from 1000 commercialized technologies from leadings research organizations, scientists and experts from across the globe.
