With the demand of PMOLED (Passive Matric Organic Light-Emitting Diode) displays heating up, Taiwan-based WiseChip Semiconductor recently announced that it is poised to make an aggressive move into the European market with flexible and transparent PMOLED display solutions, according to United Daily News on March 1. With the plan to expand production lines of PMOLED displays, WiseChip is expected to see a signficant increase in revenues this year. PMOLED displays featuring higher brightness, wider viewing angle, lower power consumption, and higher level of bendability boast to lower production cost compared to AMOLED (Active Matric OLED) displays, making it an ideal display for wrist-worn devices such as bracelets, smart home appliances, and smart medical equipment.
