Taiwanese smartphone brand HTC announced that its Vive Ecosystem Conference will be hold from March 27 to 28 in Shenzhen, China, reported Central News Agency on March 15. Since the release of the HTC Vive in 2016, the company has seen China as the important region for its VR market and has started to expand cooperation with partners and developers for an integrated ecosystem built around the Vive platform this year while striving to tap into other sectors aside from the game one. In November last year, the company entered a strategic cooperation with the Shenzhen government and set up a 10 billion RMB (USD1.44 billion) fund for the VR industry to build a mixed platform of both AR and VR in the hope of expanding its presence in China.
