Samsung Display to Boost OLED Capacity in Vietnam
August 11, 2015

Samsung Display plans to spend additional US$2 billion on its Vietnamese display panel facility where small and mid-size OLED panels for smartphones are made, reported Nikkei on August 11. The OLED display plant, which began operation early this year, is located at a manufacturing complex in Bac Ninh Province. The additional investment, which was approved by the Vietnamese government, will be used to improve the plant. Aside from high-end smartphones, Samsung also plans to supply OLED display panels to lower-priced models and a variety of vendors, including Chinese Huawei, Vivo, OPPO, and Meizu.
