Abstract

The report finds shipment volume of the Taiwan server system industry at the full system/barebones levels declined 6.7% year-on-year and 1.0% sequentially in the fourth quarter of 2020, reaching 1.14 million units. Shipment volume of the Taiwan server board industry also declined 7.6% sequentially and 10.2% year-on-year, reaching 1.3 million units. Amid the COVID-19 outbreak in the first half of 2020, vendors had strong pull-in demand since the second quarter of 2020. This, however, softened the demand in the second half, traditionally the peak season, in 2020. Shipment volume of the Taiwan server system industry at the full system/barebones levels is anticipated to have grown 1.7% year-on-year but down 12.9% sequentially in the first quarter of 2021, reaching 993,000 units. Meanwhile, shipment volume of the Taiwan server board industry is also expected to have declined 12.5% sequentially but grown 0.4% year-on-year, reaching 1.2 million units.
