Abstract

In September 2008, Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy protection, signaling the outbreak of the global financial crisis. From the subprime-related market segment, the financial turmoil spilled over to other markets, including stock and currency markets, and other global financial sectors, as well as the manufacturing and service industries. Since then, the unfavorable economic climate clouded the global market. With the joint efforts of governments and private sectors worldwide, the global economy has begun to show signs of stabilization. This report will analyze how the consumer electronics market will develop amid the current economic situation.
