This research report presents shipment value forecast and recent quarter review of the Taiwanese fabless IC industry. The report includes fabless IC shipment value, product mix, and application mix analyses. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with fabless IC designers, and publicly available information such as corporate financial statements. The report finds that the Taiwanese fabless IC industry's shipment value increased 13.2% sequentially and 12.5% year-on-year, reaching around US$4.50 billion in the second quarter of 2014. It is estimated that the industry's shipment value will stood at US$17.5 billion in 2014, bolstered mainly by the tepid return of corporate PC demand, growth in demand for 4K2K TVs, and strong shipments of mid-and-lower-end smartphones.
