Abstract

The onset of the global financial crisis in the second half of 2008 led to a weak peak season in that year, and the inventories built up at the end of 2008 cast a shadow over the consumer electronics market in 2009. Demand in mature markets was not strong, but emerging markets managed to maintain growth. As a result, some branded vendors and white-box vendors managed to expand their market shares. With moderately priced products becoming a focus area in the market, changes also occurred in the small- and medium-size panel industry. This report analyzes the current and future development of the small- and medium-size TFT panel industry, including key supply and demand factors. The report also provides a worldwide small- and medium-size TFT panel shipment forecast for the period 2010-2014.
