Abstract

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation is a Japanese electronics and electrical equipment manufacturer, which provides products for residential, public, industrial, and military uses. The company has introduced smart manufacturing to its production process with the launch of several smart factory solutions, such as visualization, e-F@ctory, and eco-F@ctory. These solutions have been used to connect various industrial automation products, power distribution equipment, and air conditioning equipment. The results have been validated at Mitsubishi Electric's Kani Plant Nagoya Works where human-robot collaboration was adopted. This report discusses Mitsubishi Electric's smart manufacturing developments, major business, and applications to explore Mitsubishi Electric's smart manufacturing endeavor.
