Abstract

The report finds shipment volume of the global motherboard industry declined 6.8% year-on-year to 32.3 million units in the fourth quarter of 2015, owing largely in part to the deferred launch of Skylake CPUs and the replacement cycle that contributed to a stronger performance in the same period last year. The industry did up live up to expectations and suffered from year-on-year and sequential declines in the first quarter of 2016. As some situations are likely to persist, it is anticipated that worldwide motherboard shipment volume will not see a pick-up until the second half of 2016.
