Abstract

The report includes shipment volume and value, ASP, manufacturer volume ranking, shipment by assembly level, shipment by price point, and product mix analysis. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with Taiwan's notebook PC makers. The report finds that Taiwan's notebook PC industry felt the breeze from the rollout of notebook PCs running on Windows 10 at the end of July, 2015 and thus the industry's shipment volume was able to reach 36.7 million units in the third quarter of 2015, up 12.6% sequentially. Affected by fluctuated euro currency and uncertain market demand, the industry's shipment volume was anticipated to witness over 2% decline year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2015. With more Skylake-powered notebook PCs hitting the market in the fourth quarter, the share of mainstream and high-end notebook PCs running on Core i CPUs is anticipated to have risen with ASP increasing to US$431.
