According to MIC optimistic-scenario forecasts, worldwide DSL CPE shipment value is expected to reach NT$108.7 billion (US$3.29 billion; US$1=NT$33.04) by 2013, and cable modem shipment value is expected to reach NT$59.3 billion (US$1.79 billion) by 2013 Emerging countries such as China and India are likely to be major growth drivers in the future broadband market, with DSL still the mainstream technology
