Abstract

Global shipment volume of cable, IP, and OTT (Over The Top) STB (Set Top Box) devices topped 169 million units in 2018. Despite IP and cable STB shipments declined year-on-year in some advanced countries due to reduced production lines and the US-China trade war, OTT STB devices still managed to witness a double-digit growth in 2018. Looking forward, amid the slowdown in demand for cable and IP STBs, shipment volume of the global IP, cable, and OTT STBs is estimated to reach 153 million units in 2023, with a CAGR of -1.7% from 2019 to 2023.
